MASHA

exhibition design // logo design
2021

The subject of the exhibition is Masha Ivanshistova, a photographer from Saint Petersburg who was heavily engaged in the Leningrad poetic and photography underground movement of the 1960−80s. Throughout most of her life, Masha was prolific in her photography, but her photo films were hidden in the attic and rarely developed. The exhibition aims to give Masha’s work the spotlight it deserves. The symbol of the exhibition logo is derived from the traditional Slavic emblem known as Kolovrot, which embodies the essence of life and its various cycles, capturing a memory of Masha's journey.
